Alice in Wonderland.

Yes, we finally saw it...in 3D! First of all, I wasn't a big fan of the 3D, but Craig loved it. I didn't like it because of two reasons; in 3D they pretty much choose the details that you see clearly so if there's anything else you want to see in detail and it's not in 3D, tough luck, and it gave me a slight headache...but that may also have to do with the fact that we sat a little closer than intended.

Anyways, in comment to the actual movie, I thought it was a fun movie. Definitely different than the Disney movie, but it had a fantastic cast which definitely contributed to the experience, for me. However, it does get old when Helena Bonham Carter yells....all...the...time. I did love Johnny Depp's version of the Mad Hatter. It looked a little over the top at first, but in the movie you learn to love him.

Again, it wasn't a bad movie, but it wasn't the best movie ever. If you go into it not expecting the best movie ever, you'll enjoy it. It's only in theaters for a little bit longer, I didn't think the theater was necessary to enjoy the movie, so I would say wait and rent it.

Fablehaven

...is a book we've kept up on. Fantastic series, we recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy books. The fifth and final book came out about a week ago and we finished it a few days ago. We're kind of sad the series has ended, especially since we feel there was more he could have done with it. But we keep hoping that he will address the series again. Last night he was at the Lehi Costco signing copies. We waited in line for about ten minutes and then I decided to investigate just how long the line was...it was about an hour and a half long. We didn't have time to wait since we all hadn't had dinner and Craig needed to get to bed early for work the next morning. So we decided that just getting a glimpse of him would be good enough. Here are the spoils of our adventure:

Lucas waiting patiently in line

And here's the man of the hour, Brandon Mull

Here's how the picture actually looked...
this was as close as we could get without feeling creepy...

We did NOT get to meet him, but hope to write a letter to or email him expressing our appreciation for his books...maybe we'll see him shopping in Costco or Walmart one of these days...wishful thinking...

The SECOND Very Blucas Easter

As Luke was much more aware this time around, it was a little more fun. My aunt and uncle had just bought a new condo in Highland so we joined them halfway through the day and spent time with that part of my family, a few of my cousins were missing but I'm sure I'll catch them the next time around. However, we did start the day with my family's tradition of waffles, strawberries, and whipped cream. Lucas partook of that tradition and seemed to enjoy it. The pictures below are proof of his enthusiasm. Enjoy!
