Daily Entertainment
I couldn't help but notice that since I've been home and not at school or working, my daily routine has been contributing to the downfall of our society. It usually consists of multiple movies, endless television series, and many trips to the pantry/refrigerator in hopes that snacks would magically appear. Why is that the first response for the general public when boredom knocks at our door? Don't get me wrong, It's nice to have some mindless indulgence every once and a while, however, It just made me sick thinking of all the movies i've seen and all the television shows i'm caught up on. There must be a half way point. According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV a day or 28 hours a week. That's more television than time devoted to a part time job. Whatever happened to reading, expanding our minds, enjoying the outdoors no matter what the weather, spending time with our children rather then sticking them in front of the television? Looking through my book shelf I found there were many books I'd like to revisit. The weather isn't like California here, but I'm pretty sure they made jackets for a reason. I just keep kicking myself for allowing this to happen. There is such a wider world out there and I need to take advantage of it. Carpe diem. It's time to seize the day!

Ode to my Mother
So my mom has gone and is now getting into the mind frame of mother-of-the-groom. I can think back to when she was coming...it was a little like Rachel on the Friends episode with the baby shower and she says "don't leave me" to her mom. I had no idea what to expect with a little one, but she taught me a few tricks of the trade and I can't say I'm a pro, but she definitely prepared me for what is to come. She made what could have been potentially sleepless nights a lot easier and helped give the love and attention Luke needs. She taught me so many things about making life with an infant easier by helping get him on a schedule that we can keep up on. She showed us how to burp him and helped us with treating his circumcision and keeping his umbilical cord pristine. I'm so grateful for her help and am going to miss her company.

...that's right...pictures. They're kind of lame because...again...hard to get good pictures of him...we're trying to figure out how to turn off the flash on our camara but to no avail...don't really want to burn his retina's before he gets a fighting chance.
What our afternoons consist of
He's such a little sleeper
Big yawn!
My little old man!
And...more sleeping.

I know, I know
Hmm...Well there's really not much to say or report. Luke is just over two weeks old and isn't doing anything much different then when he was a day old. I guess an exciting thing that happened is his umbilical cord finally fell off and the doctor was really happy with his health. He also couldn't help but notice how cute he was, but I said he probably said that to all the mothers. Other than that, we're still giving him sponge baths and he's still just kind of sitting there like a jelly bean. It's nice because now he's not really looking at me like I'm some kind of stranger....it's more like...hmm, i think we've met before. Anyways...I hear screams for more pictures, so I'll try to put pictures up, but I've had a hard time taking pictures of him because he hasn't really changed much since he came home from the hospital. Also, his cuteness can't be really be caught in still photos...ya kinda have to meet him.
He has this thing with sleeping with his hands by his face...it's super cute.
